sounds like a fairy tale, this film by Luc Jacquet (March of the Penguins), but a story with real people.
The contents of the tale are all there and can be summarized in the "character" main (a girl, which is a lava stone, with red hair and green eyes irresistibly drawn to a fox), the world of archetypes (represented here by Nature untouched by the fox and the many mysterious and wonderful animals of the forest dwellers) and the "moral" closing of the story.
The film is beautiful, a real plunge into a wild (and yet with its own "order") as seen from the point of view "not human", then a way to bring that perhaps few of us have experienced the same way as the young protagonist.
The girl, in fact, we enter into "tiptoe", with much respect and patience. Fell in love at first sight of a fox, the little girl, in her spare time, he tries in every way to make contact with her. But the foxes, you know, wild creatures are very clever, cunning and suspicious nature. It will not be easy for the child to enter into the good graces of the fox, and will have to study every kind of gimmick to succeed. But in the end wins: the fox and her two become intimate friends.

Comincia così col dare un nome alla volpe, le metterà un collare, cercherà di convincerla a farle da "assistente" nei giochi, fino a portarla a casa sua, nella sua stanza, dove chiuderà la porta.
Vistasi "chiusa in gabbia" la volpe reagirà in malo modo, fino a sfondare una finestra e saltare giù dal primo piano, ferendosi gravemente. L'incidente segnarà la fine di un rapporto "equo" costruito con amore e pazienza.
La volpe non morirà, ma da allora tornerà a prendere le distanze dalla bimba la quale, ormai donna, racconterà, molti anno dopo, di quella meravigliosa e tragica esperiena al figlioletto.
Morale. Tentare di mettere in gabbia esseri dalla natura selvaggia e incontaminata può sortire due effetti negativi: ucciderli oppure allontanarli da sé.
