the Bhagavata Purana tells us that in an age previous to this where we live, during the period of 'universal supervision' of the sixth Manu, Manu Cakshusha, I think around 8 million to 900 million years ago (considering that we live in the era of the seventh Manu, Vaivasvata, and if I am correct that every Manu 'live' for 6 million to 700 million years ago) the great sage Durvasa Muni, a yogi by the inconceivable power, wanted to congratulate Indra during a parade official.
Durvasa while watching the parade was introduced in front of the procession and gave a garland of flowers to Indra. This rather put the garland around his neck, com'era in uso, la infilò sulla proboscide dell'elefante su cui stava seduto.
After he had heard, Brahma realized that the universe was losing the virtues (balance, the right measure) quality possessed by the gods, while the lower passions, greed, arrogance and imbalance were destroying the worlds.
Brahma thought, "Now is the time to appeal under the influence of the living beings who took a material body ...".
Brahma knew that the only one who could really do something decisive was Vishnu, the Sovereign Lord, the only source of all: of men and of all universes.
As Vishnu was to be in charge of keeping alive the Virtues and restore it when decayed (while Brahma, though virtuous, supervises the Passion Creator and Shiva (also a virtuoso) oversees destructive Ignorance, inertia, and processing), Brahma Vishnu could not turn to ..
Then, together, all went on the shores of the Ocean of Milk (the Milky Way?), Which dwelt at the center of Vishnu, on an island called Shvetadvipa (a dwelling that is said to be eternal and the transcendental dimension of the material), to seek the necessary support.
Vishnu could not be approached by anyone, only Brahma could come into telepathic contact with Him Before then no one had ever seen.
After a long period, and after many prayers, Vishnu appeared to the Deva, and its brilliance was such (and consider that the devas are brilliant) that they could not look at him directly.
First Vishnu proposed to conclude a truce with the Asuras and enable them to 'blend' the ocean of milk to obtain the nectar of immortality.
(Here it seems to me a must open a parenthesis, otherwise you may think I'm just telling a fairy tale for children: Consider, first, that the texts come to us we were actually presented as the fairy tales, myths unlikely. But if we consider that may being told the 'truth' hidden, or altered in these myths, then it can change perspective. Thus the ocean of milk could be the Milky Way; Shvetadvipa may be, for example, the North Star, the 'blending' Ocean some chemical process, or why not? technology can produce the endless manifestations 'dense' matter but, above all, the secret of immortality; Gods and the Asuras would be the supreme 'categories' of Extratterrestri, with powers multidimensional; Vishnu Universal Consciousness, the only matrix of each event, and so on).
So: Vishnu proposed to blend the ocean of milk to produce the 'nectar of immortality', but warned the gods not to be 'diverted' from the attractive things that would be born from the blending of the ocean, nor to fear the poison that would be produced first under the effect of blending, because they would take care Shiva.
Their only aim was to regain the leadership of the worlds second 'law' e. .. why not? the secret immortality.
So the gods went to propose that idea 'genius' to their opponents, led by Bali, and they immediately showed themselves very happy with the project 'immortality'.
entered into an armistice, Deva and Asura set about the work of producing nectar.
First you had to pay many kinds of herbs in the Ocean, then carrying a huge golden mountain, the mountain Mandara, on the spot, and then, using an immense snake (Vasuki, the King of Snakes) as a rope coiled around the mountain, everyone should, with the strength of their arms, rotate the mountain so fast as to produce the 'blending' desired.
The company transporting the mountain was not up to the forces of 'entrepreneurs' divine and Asura, and it took the help of Vishnu to carry it on the site.
Once there you had to overcome a number problems, and smart ideas follow one after another, at incredible pace, but in order to arrive.
First thing based on the heavy mountain?
began with a fix a giant pin, but with all the mountains, sank nell'oceano.
Dopo aver bevuto il veleno la gola di Shiva divenne blu, thing on his body took on the appearance of a golden ornament. This event is due to the epithet of Shiva as Nilakanta (the God-throated blue).
Back to blend, after the episode the poison, they began to emerge from the ocean a number of wonderful things: the cow of plenty, a magical horse seized in Bali, elephants with extraordinary powers, led by Airavata, who later became the mount of Indra, the gem Kaustuba that Vishnu took to decorate his chest, then a magic flower and goddesses of the universe's most beautiful: the apsaras, then, again by the 'blending' appeared even the Goddess of Fortune, Lakshmi: this, after having carefully examined all those present, chose as her husband Vishnu.
The Asuras felt neglected by the Goddess of Fortune, but did appear when the blending Varuna, the Goddess of the drinkers, they accept it willingly and comforted.
Back to 'whip', these saw Dhanvantari (another avatar, an expert in medicine, beautiful, holding a pot of gold with 'nectar' immortality) out of the ocean.
Immadiatamente the Asuras snatched the vase and ran away.
While the Devas were standing plagued by one party for the theft of Nectar, the Asuras began to contend each other to grab the precious liquid.
Then Vishnu thought of playing a 'dirty trick' to Asura taking a 'form' women: the most beautiful that ever existed.
This avatar of Vishnu, Mohini Devi, was so attractive that all the Asuras, seeing its forms and its sensual sway decorated with shy smiles, were seized with uncontrollable sexual desires.
attracted to women Asuras thought to ask her to settle their dispute over who would first have to drink the nectar.
Mohini replied jokingly saying it was only a prostitute and would also could make a decision 'dishonest'. But the Asura, smiling to each other, completely subjugated by the charms of Mohini, yielding the precious vase (for which they were Scanno) and entrusted to her the task of settling the dispute, saying that would have allowed any of its decision.
Without
have it repeat twice the charming Mohini took the jar and made an appointment to all present at a later date when, after appropriate rituals and purifications, would receive "what he deserved."
So, after the rituals and fasts, Gods and Asura found themselves all together, sitting in separate rows, in the elegant halls in attessa dell'affascinante Mohini.
When this came once again captured all of the defendants: her breasts, her thighs, his face, his eyes, his gait was so sensual to completely subjugate the will of the Asura.
Mohini moved with extreme elegance between the two lines of thinking to himself, contending that since the Demons were unreliable, treacherous as snakes and destabilize the universal order, he could not entrust them with the precious liquid of immortality.
However, he was honored and been honored with kind words and full of respect, so he turned towards the Asuras, now full of affection verso di lei, e li soddisfece con le sue dolci parole.
End of story
What we understand from this story?
First the pride of playing really bad jokes (see the pride of Indra).
Then, if we compare the Asuras and the gods that a number of superior races 'extraterrestrial multidimensional' then some 'right' other 'rebels' universal harmony, we can see that more in the end, the balance hanging always on the side of the righteous.
Even when they are in numerical advantage and force the Asuras, sooner or later they are defeated, even by fraud if necessary (it will seem strange that the Divine 'cheating' but in extreme cases get to do it).
Here we see that it is one that others share the same ambitions, same place and at the same time but in different ways: first by subjecting them to 'natural cosmic order', the other trying to establish them different order, contrary to the divine, and thus leading to a disruption in creation.
Time: one thing that few seem to know is that the ubiquitous Universal Father (here represented by the triad of Vishnu, Shiva and Brahma) is impartial toward all living beings, while respecting the law of free will, and indeed rarely intervenes in divine and human affairs.
This is because everyone, absolutely everyone (even the gods and the Asuras) are here to grow in awareness about ... a perfect end.
Thus the 'friction' between Gods and Asuras and the quest for immortality (whose effects are also affected by our physical) has as its goal ... say ... a certain evolution of consciousness, collective and individual.
It may seem strange to say but difficult times in which we live, viewed from another perspective, are a real 'boon' for a person who has decided to work on himself, who wants to come to understand how things really are and become a more harmonious and conscious person ... these difficult times are better suited to wake up from daily torpor.
Yes, because it is the friction between opposing sides to create the 'space' awareness of different (which each of us needs to get rid of unconscious identifications) and create the famous 'third force' needed to go 'beyond', to 'jump' octave.
What else?
